As a young engineer I desired to be exposed to a broad range of experiences. I knew from previous roles that you can get stuck in one place in bigger firms or large government jobs and not have exposure to various aspects of the civil engineering profession. A browse through the company website revealed GBA’s diversity and the parts of Queensland where they worked. This was attractive to me. I called up the firm and asked to speak with a senior partner, I thought they would ask me to call back or leave an email for sure. I was delighted when my request was met, a trait of a company with good values and good staff culture. I felt that GBA had good leadership in their partners, which drew me to the role. A good boss is always a great thing and makes the job more enjoyable.
